Why Train w/ a Flat Barrel?
-
Immediate Swing Feedback: The Half Bat exposes swing flaws. Uppercuts, choppy swings, and/or poor grip placement all produce obvious mishits (flares, rollovers, ect). This visual feedback allows hitter to identify, diagnose & correct their mistakes, instantly - making training more productive + efficient.Â
-
Dials in Bat Path: Only a truly flush, level swing produces a line drive. This trains hitters to chase a more consistent path through the hitting zone - yielding better extension & contact quality on gameday.Â
- Improves Bat Speed: Because the Half Bat is lighter than a standard game bat, every session doubles as underload training - a proven method for increasing bat speed over time, as well allowing hitters to train longer without fatigue.Â

NOTE: All bat purchase come w/ FREE access to our training app - Baseball IQ. Complete w/ dozens of Half Bat drills, practice plans, bat speed programs & hitting lessons designed by pro Hitting Coach, Trey Hannam.Â

"The Half Bat is as legit as it gets. Started using it with my guys last fall & saw immediate improvements in their barrel rate. If you are serious about developing a high average swing, there is no better trainer on the market.Â

FAQ's
If you have questions about anything (including custom orders), please email us at: mike@baseballiq.app. We will get back to you immediately!Â
No hard game balls. Only foam balls work with our Half Bat. MARV Sunken Seam Foam Balls are the gold-standard & available as an add-on at purchase.Â
No Driveline Smush Balls or Tatter Balls through a machine - they will break the bat. Marv Balls work great through the machine.
Perfect for tee work, front toss, or machine batting practice with foam balls. An added benefit is the bat is lighter than a regular bat, so it's an underload for the hitter. This is a proven method to increase bat speed.

great bat
Excellent training tool that gives instant feedback to assess whether or not your player is reaching extension. Smushballs work great with this bat.
Amazing practice bat and concept !! Plus delivery and service on point !!
Feels like it’s made of cheap pine. Could have used a more denser wood like maple. Feels fragile.
Love the immediate feedback from the bat. Great tool for teaching a good bat path.
